Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC), is a presentation of the Valentina Kozlova Dance Foundation, Inc. (VKDF) a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dance organization. Currently we are underway to bring you the 7th edition of this event. In the 2016-2017 season, we will host two regional or semi-final competitions: Sao Paulo, Brazil and St. Petersburg, Russia.

In 2011, Valentina Kozlova created the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition (VKIBC). Since its inception, nearly 1,000 young dancers, hailing from 30 countries have participated. The competition does not stress monetary prizes to medal winners, but instead, concentrates on career oriented rewards, such as company contracts and trainee scholarships to prestigious international schools.

Prizes are also awarded to non-medal winners who show special qualities in artistry, musicality and interpretation rather than purely technique. Competitors have been awarded prizes of guest appearances at the Kremlin in Moscow, Paris, London, Seoul, Riga and other major world capitals. On occasion, exceptionally talented young dancers have been offered VKIBC sponsorships, which allow them the possibility to compete free of any charge. One of the most important aspects of the competition is that it allows the judges, all directors of renowned international dance companies and schools, to see these young dancers perform.
